Electronic presence, a new experiment launched today

Today Pierre and I met; the main aim was to re establish the work process we had before I left the always-connected world. We ended the meeting with considerations on new ways for Electronest to communicate; after a few thoughts we both had since we last considered the topic: how should we talk to people, or in a more marketed way of speaking: how should we (re) brand our communication.

While we are communicating thru our blogs (R-Echos, Assembling, and the recent Capacity) with returning visitors and people who know us, we feel that we needed to speak also to one time visitors of our website, and we wanted to be able to give them an overview of what it is we are doing at electronest that could interest them.

Today, it was the start of a spring cleaning. For a while we had been developping blogs, pages and link lists as we went and as people asked us what electronest was, our portfolio etc…. Some of this pages had became independent other collapsed and were not updated anymore. It was a very interesting to make a sort of assessement of the different ways we presented ourselves in this material according to different audiences and points of view and try to make it more accesible and coherent.

The Elevator pitch - that’s the idea that drove us: to summarise as efficiently as possible our activities in the shortest way possible. Two aspects: a visual hook, textual explanations. If you want to dig deeper, the text gets more into details. It’s a one page unified view of what used to be a simple Apache directory tree listing. This is also a soft launch and an ongoing experiment; the idea being to develop a communication machine which fits Electronest’s needs in real time, being flexible and reactive.
